Sound: Naryan’s second solo disc is based on setting a mood.for a meditative
atmosphere. The disc features three tracks. The first two tracks, Dhayana Alap
and Gayatri Alap, are Classical Indian styled alaps that flow uninterrupted for over
45 minutes together. Each alap intimately exposes the Santoor (Hammered Dulcimer)
subtle overtones and resonations. The disc closes with Shivkumar, a folk inspired
song written for the great Shivkumar Sharma

CD Title: night a day
Release date: Spring 2004
Sound: a posterity project aimed at preserving the sound of naryan's first
hammered dulcimer and what has.driven him thus far. the disc features two
tracks, the first is a solo hammered dulcimer track in traditional and
non-traditional indian classical form called an alap, meaning free time expression
of notes to set a mood. The second track also holds traditional and non-traditional
forms of rhythmic cycles that repeat themselves on a persian santoor.
Both tracks total just under 40min.
